Alejandro Colunga Jr

 

I have the privilege to return to BOYCP this year as the Multimedia Art teacher. Last year I completed my student teaching here, working with Mrs. Strentz Photo 1 and DP Visual Arts classes. I look forward to working and learning alongside you all this year.

I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, splitting my time between the East Side and Pilsen neighborhoods. I attended CPS schools throughout my life and I graduated from Benito Juarez Community Academy in 2017. During my time at Juarez I was enrolled in their IB program, and completed the Diploma Program (DP).  I then went on study Art Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I graduated from this past spring.

 

During my free time I enjoy cooking, painting (mostly murals and public art), and going to shows. Some of my favorite bands are Title Fight, Tigers Jaw, Joyce Manor, Interpol, The Cure among many more.. When I'm not being am emo/darks kid, I enjoy listening to Corridos, Norteñas, and Reggaeton.
