Emily Alvarez

^{This is my 6th year teaching at Back of the Yards.  This year, I will be teaching DP Psychology 1 & Psychology.  I graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago with my Bachelors in Psychology and my Masters in Teaching of History.}

^{I grew up in Aurora, Illinois, where my parents and siblings immigrated to from Argentina in 1991.  My family and culture are cornerstones of who I am, and are a large reason I decided to become a Social Studies teacher.}

^{In addition to teaching, I am also the Girls' Flag Football Assistant coach and Boys' JV Volleyball coach.} 

^{My favorite subjects in school were Psychology & Government, but I am always interested in learning things from a variety of subjects.  In my free time, I like to cook, bake, read, and watch all sorts of shows. I am an avid sports fan and have perfected the art of yelling at the TV, strongly believing they can hear me!}
