Mr. Ish
Welcome Bobcats!!
I have had the privilege of teaching at BOYCP since 2019. The past few years at BOYCP have been the best years of my teaching career and I hope for this school year to be even better. The PE/Health/Driver's Education department at BOYCP is the best in the city and I am very proud of the work we do here. I am super excited to be a part of the team and look forward to working with the sophomores this school year in the PE II course. Sophomores, I hope you are ready to learn how to drive because you will have a driver's education unit as a part of the PE II curriculum. It is the goal of the Physical Education department to develop a diverse curriculum providing the foundation for exercise, sport, healthy living, and wellness. We are proud to offer a wide variety of Physical Education courses that allows students to explore many aspects of Physical Education. I believe in the power of a quality Physical Education curriculum and how it develops the whole person to be balanced in health and wellness. Physical Education provides students with the opportunity to tap into the part of us that longs to be an active and healthy person. I value every student's voice, story, and lived experiences. It has always been one of my personal goals as an educator to provide each and every student regardless their Physical Education background with at least one key foundation or concept that they can build on towards lifelong wellness. Go Bobcats!!

BIO
I am dad to a beautiful little girl, Eva. My wife and I have been married since 2015. I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago in Dolton and Flossmoor, IL. I graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School in 1998. In my free time, I enjoy smoking meats on my Traeger, watching movies (preferably comedies), listening to sports talk radio, playing fantasy football/baseball, hiking, camping, and taking vacations with my family. My favorites sports teams are the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox.
Right now my current, favorite athlete is the White Sox star centerfielder, Luis Robert. I love to attend sporting events and other live events. My other passion is playing sports. In high school I played basketball and football. Youth sports kept me busy in gymnastics, soccer, swimming, baseball, basketball, and football. When I am not teaching or coaching spending time with my family and doing outdoor activities while enjoying nature is the best.
During the summer and some Saturdays I teach behind the wheel at Gage Park Driver's Education. Teaching our students how to be safe and responsible drivers is a passion of mine and I look forward to helping your student obtain their driver's license.
