Ideas for Staying Safe and Engaged During Spring Break!

We want all of our students to stay safe and engaged during this break from school. Here are some options for families to consider:

Safe Haven Sites. In collaboration with our faith-based partners and nonprofit organizations, CPS will offer meals and activities for students throughout spring break at no cost to families. Hours and activities vary from site to site. Click here for complete details.

My CHI. My Future. 2025 Teen Bash. Students can join My CHI. My Future. on Saturday, March 29 from noon to 4 p.m. for their 2025 Teen Bash at the Aon Ballroom on Navy Pier! Chicago residents ages 13 to 19 can enjoy a day filled with special musical performances, free pizza and snacks, a resource expo for summer jobs, and more. Chicago Public Library (CPL). CPL offers exciting programming for students across Chicago year round, including during spring break. Explore events for students of all ages, such as the Science Heroes: Chills and Thrills series in various CPL locations or the Teen Spring Break Bash at the Lincoln Belmont location. 

Chicago Park District. The Chicago Park District is offering Spring Break Camps at various parks throughout Chicago. Most camps run March 24–28 for children ages 6–12. Most camp days are six hours, although a select few will be longer. Please be aware that each park charges a nominal fee to cover the week’s activities. In addition, the Park District is actively recruiting lifeguards for the upcoming summer season, and spring break is a great time to apply! One Summer Chicago. Spring break is a great time for students ages 14 to 24 to start looking for a summer job! One Summer Chicago brings together companies, community organizations, and government institutions to offer employment and internship opportunities for our students. Click here to explore and apply.

Navy Pier. Spring Break at the Pier offers interactive workshops, creative activities, and family fun. Enjoy dance, music, and art sessions–something for everyone! Please note there are associated costs.
